Redness, Flushing & Rosacea-Type Concerns

  • Diffuse redness

  • Rosacea-type flushing and visible vessels

  • Small facial telangiectasia

How it happens (physiology)

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder involving vascular dysregulation (abnormal dilation/reactivity of superficial facial vessels) and immune dysregulation, sometimes with Demodex and microbiome involvement.

Variations

  • Erythematotelangiectatic: flushing, persistent redness, visible capillaries.

  • Papulopustular: redness with inflammatory papules/pustules.

  • Phymatous: thickening, especially nasal.

  • Ocular: eye involvement.

Severity & treatment approach

  • Mild diffuse redness: vascular-safe skincare, lifestyle triggers addressed, possible gentle IPL/1064 nm laser.

  • Moderate (visible vessels, frequent flares): combination of medical therapy (topicals/orals via physician) and procedural options (IPL / vascular laser) spaced appropriately.

  • Severe or phymatous/ocular involvement: primarily managed medically (often dermatology) with procedures as adjunct; energy-based devices need cautious, staged use.

IPL Photofacials

  • IPL is considered safe and effective for benign vascular disorders, including telangiectasia and erythema, and is frequently used for rosacea-associated redness.

Laser Genesis / 1064 nm
